main idea: Friends, no matter how uncomfortable it is, need to resolve issues honestly and openly.

It’s interesting how we face tough situations, especially when you have something personally at stake.  For Ronny (played by Vince Vaughan), he saw his best friend’s wife (Winona Ryder) cheating on his best friend (Kevin James).  Yet sending his friend into an emotional abyss would ruin their big career move.  So he plays out the tension: should he tell or should he not?  Yet when he tries or wants to reveal the truth in other ways, it backfires.  In the end (somewhat predictably) it all comes out in the wrong way.  But it all does somehow come to light and the friendship is restored.

Interesting how Jesus challenges us that whenever we’ve wronged someone, we need to go resolve it (Matt. 5:23-24).  If someone does something wrong against us (even if it’s a perceived wrong on our end), Jesus says we need to go to them to resolve it (Matt. 18:15-17).  In other words, if there’s an issue, get it resolved.  It can be hard and very uncomfortable at times (I’ve held back many times in my life).  But the alternative is likely quite worst.

So what’s unresolved that needs to get done right now?
