I think I’ve made my peace about this: I am a generalist. I am decent at a whole bunch of stuff, but I am not a specialist. I am not great at one specific thing. There are some who are great at many things. We call them Sheldon Cooper (or maybe not).

There have been times in my life when I wanted to specialize in something. Or perhaps, more specifically, seen as an expert in something. However, I recognize that there are lots of people better at me at very different things. I can do many things adequately (or even above average). However, there are specialists who would be ranked much higher.

I believe I’ve come to terms (at least for now) that where God wants me to is to be a generalist. To assist adequately well when called upon, recognizing that someone else will take it to a higher level when applicable. And I’m ok with that.
